Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to investigate psychometric propertiesof Persian version of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire- Elementary School (AEQ-ES) in Tabriz elementary students’ population. This questionnaire assesses students' enjoyment, anxiety, and boredom related to three types of academic situations (attending class, doing homework, and taking tests). In this research, first, the AEQ-ES was translated into Farsi. After a pilot study and resolving the problems, the Questionnaire were carried out to a sample group consisting of 426 students (216 girls and 210 boys) who were studying in fifth grade in Tabriz elementary schools. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Correlation Test and also Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) were used to analyze data. Results showed that the AEQ scales are acceptably reliable. Also results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed that the structure of Questionnaire Scales have acceptable fit with data. The results of this study indicate that The Persian version of the AEQ-ES is a reliable and valid measurement instrument that can be used for purposes of research and applied goals in classroom settings.
