Abstract

Knowing math science is necessary for nowadays developed world, so by positive attitude to it, can provide the educational improvement. We can get positive attitude by the change of attitude toward the mathematics. The present study that is quasi-experimental of pre-test and post-test with control group, attempts to determine impacts of group counseling training by cognitive method on attitude changing toward mathematics and academic improvement. All of male students of grade two in guidance schools in Khorramshahr were statistical population of this research that 24 students were selected by multiple stage random sampling. Data was collected by the mathematical attitude questionnaire of Rahmati (1381) and researcher-made math educational improvement test. The data were analyzed by multi-variables covariance and unique variance. Result revealed that the group counseling by cognitive method is increasing the positive attitude toward the mathematics and academic improvement of experimental group in mathematics.
