[English]

The aim of the present study was to predict academic engagement based on teachers’ quantum skills in the teaching-learning process of high school students in District Four of Tehran. The research was applied, and its method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the study included all high school students in District Four of Tehran in the academic year 2023-2024, from which 384 students selected as a sample using Cochran’s sample size formula, and stratified random sampling. The data collection tools were the Academic Engagement Questionnaire of Pintrich et al. (1991) and the Quantum Skills Questionnaire of Azimi-Sanavi (2011). The validity of the questionnaires confirmed, and their reliability estimated using Cronbach’s alpha, which was 0.928 for the Academic Engagement Questionnaire and 0.87 for the Quantum Skills Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient and regression) used to analyze the data. The findings of the study showed that teachers’ quantum skills explain 40.4% of the variance in students’ academic engagement, with the explanation being 48.4% among students in the experimental sciences field and 52% among students in the humanities field. There was also a significant relationship between all dimensions of quantum skills (seeing, thinking, feeling, knowing, acting, trust, and being) and students’ academic engagement. The final result is that academic engagement of high school students in District Four of Tehran can be predicted based on teachers’ quantum skills in the teaching-learning process.
