This research was conducted to determine the causal relationships of variables that have most effect on academic self-handicapping in the university students of Tehran. The population was the university students of Tehran that 520 people were selected as a sample from the universities of Allameh Tabataba’i, Tehran, south branch of Payam-e-Noor & Islamic Azad through voluntary sampling. The research tools was include the short form of NEO Personality inventory, perfectionism Multidimensional Questionnaire, General self-efficacy Questionnaire, classroom motivational scale, academic self-handicapping Questionnaire, self-esteem Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using structural equations modeling. The findings provided a robust support for the hypothesized structural relationships and show that personality traits, perfectionism, self-esteem, academic performance and academic motivation could directly affect academic self-handicapping and self-efficacy could indirectly affect academic self-handicapping with the mediating effects of academic performance. Also personality traits and perfectionism could indirectly affect academic self-handicapping with the mediating effects of academic performance and academic motivation. With the increase in neuroticism and by reducing the openness experience, academic self-handicapping will probably emerge and also high level of self-esteem, self-efficacy and academic motivation Will lead to lower levels of academic self-handicapping but high level of perfectionism and academic performance Increases the academic self-handicapping behaviors.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of attributional retraining program on students’ positive and negative achievement emotions and academic engagement. In this pretest-posttest nonequivalent-group design with follow up stage, 41 undergraduate students at Shahid Beheshti University in experimental and control groups responded to the Academic Emotion Questionnaire-Revised (AEQ-R, Abdollahpour, 1394) and the Academic Engagement Inventory (AEI, Salmela-Aro & Upadaya, 2012). The experimental group received seven resilience training sessions (Two hours a session). The results of multivariate covariance analysis indicated that attributional retraining program was effective in increasing positive class-related, learning-related and test-related emotion scales and components of the academic engagement consisted on energy, dedication and absorption and in decreasing negative class-related, learning-related and test-related emotion scales in short term and long term. These findings suggest that attributional retraining program by increasing empowering interpretations, management of emotional experiences and enrichment of interpersonal relationships skills could result in mental immunization in university students when they exposure to stressful situations.

The current research has aimed at investigating the effectiveness of clinical creativity therapy model on improving motivation and educational performance of high school students. Method: the method of this research was quasi-experimental of pretest-posttest type with the presence of control group. The sample of the study comprised first grade high school students who were studying within academic years 2013/2014 in Tehran. In this research 30 students, who had the weakest educational performance in the first semester (with the average of 12.20 to 15.90), were randomly selected and divided into two groups (experimental and control). Harter questionnaire was applied in order to measure their academic motivation. For experimental group a period of 10 sessions, which took 20 hours, of creativity therapy was held. Results: covariance analysis showed that there was a significant difference in intrinsic motivation between experimental and control group. There was also a significant difference in educational performance between two groups. Conclusion: The results showed that the clinical creativity therapy model was able to create a significant increase in intrinsic motivation and academic performance of the students in experimental group in comparison with control group.

The purpose of this study is investigating the factors affecting intention to online teaching among faculty members of payame Noor University. For this purpose, 630 members of Payame Noor University were selected by stratified random method. Eight measurement instruments that include: teaching philosophy, required time, computer experience, environmental support, computer self-efficacy, relative advantage, classroom innovation and intention to use online teaching, has been used. The results indicate that the initial model of study that was organized by using the available research record has suitable and acceptable fitness with obtained data (GFI=0.99, AGFI=0.97, CFI=0.99, NFI=0.95 and RMSEA= 0.021). Other results show that in investigating direct effects of variables on tendency of using technology and online training, the teaching philosophy has stronger predicting power as compared with other studied variables such as time and computer experience. The teaching philosophy of faculty member with intermediary role of all mentioned intermediary variables, is predicting tendency of faculty members to use online training. Faculty members computer self – efficacy is stronger predictor tendency of faculty members to use online training among all intermediary variables those effect directly on intention of using online training and compared with other variables. After than, in sequence, relative advantage of using online training and class innovation in using online training has most direct effect on tendency of using online training by faculty members.

The aim of the present study was to examine the casual relationship of work hope and academic achievement with mediating role of academic motivation among undergraduate unemployed students. Three hundred and ten (190 males, 120 females) unemployed students were selected by cluster sampling from students of Islamic Azad University, Azadshar branch. The used research instruments in this study were Work Hope Scale (WHS, Juntunen & Wettersten, 2006) and Academic Motivation Scale (AMS, Vallerand, et al, 1992). Academic achievement of the students was measured by their grade-point average. The data were analyzed by using correlation coefficient and path analysis. The results indicated that work hope had indirect effects on academic achievement through academic motivation. There was a significant positive relationship between, academic motivation and academic achievement. Extrinsic motivation had indirect effects on academic achievement. Amotivation and intrinsic motivation had direct effects on academic achievement. The causal model about relationship between work hope and academic achievement mediated by academic motivation was confirmed.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning methods from the perspective of students in the Markazi Province PNU. The used research method is descriptive survey. The study population is 400 postgraduate students those used e-learning methods which provided byPNU of Markazi Province. The sample size was estimated, by using Morgan table, 196 individuals who have been randomly selected. To collect data, multiple-choice questionnaire with 38 questions was used including eight variables. Reliability, based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.92, and its validity was confirmed by experts. In this study, based on the normal distribution of variables, univariate t-test is used for each item and interpreted. The results showed that users of e-learning system have desirable access, appropriate support as well as appropriate offering lessons. Also, we came to the conclusion that from the view points of test and evaluations, exercises and assignments, information resources, electronic contents and user interface, users of e-learning system have not a good and desirable situation.

The purpose of the present research was to investigate the psychometric properties of Persian version of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire- Mathematics (AEQ-M; Pekrun, Goetz, & Frenzel, 2005) in Tabriz High School students’ population. This questionnaire assesses students' enjoyment, pride, anger, anxiety, shame, hopelessness and boredom related to three types of academic settings (i.e. attending class, learning and taking tests). In this research, After translating AEQ-M and pilot study, the Questionnaire were carried out to 457 students (236 girls and 221 boys in ninth grade in Tabriz city. In this study, Cronbach's alpha test and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were used to analysing of data. Results showed that the AEQ-M scales are acceptably reliable. Also results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed that all of Questionnaire Scales have acceptable fit with data. The results of this study indicate that The Persian version of the AEQ-M as a reliable and valid measurement instrument can be used for purposes of research and diagnosis goals in classroom settings.
